Here’s how to make this delicious French toast:

Nutella French toast

  1. Spread 3tbsp of Nutella on a slice of Brioche bread, place another slice on top.
  2. Add the eggs, milk, vanilla and caster sugar in a bowl. Mix together using a whisk.
  3. Dip the brioche bread in the egg mixture, then fry on each side on a low heat until golden brown.

Chocolate coffee sauce

  1. Make the chocolate coffee sauce: melted the dark chocolate in the microwave.
  2. Mix together the boiling water and coffee granules until they dissolve, then stir into the melted dark chocolate. Set aside.

Mascarpone cream

  1. Add the mascarpone cheese, double cream, icing sugar in a bowl. Mix together until combined.
  2. Add a round tip into a piping bag, add som of the mascarpone cream into the bag.
  3. Pipe the mascarpone cream onto the top of the French toast (like in the video).

Assemble

  1. Dust the mascarpone cream with cocoa powder.
  2. Drizzle with the chocolate coffee sauce. (if it is too thick heat a little in the microwave and stir in 1tsp of vegetable or coconut oil)

Ingredients

French toast -  makes 2 French toasts

  • 4 slices Brioche bread
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp caster sugar
  • 6tbsp Nutella

Mascarpone cream

  • 250g Mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup double cream
  • 2tbsp icing sugar

  • 100g dark chocolate
  • 1tbsp coffee
  • 2tbsp boiling water

Other items needed

  • Cocoa powder for dusting
