Ingredients
Buttermilk pancakes
- 360g self raising flour
- 1/2tbsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1/4tsp salt
- 2 tbsp caster or granulated sugar
- 200ml buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 90g melted unsalted butter
- 350ml whole milk
- 1tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/2tbsp ground cinnamon
Cinnamon sugar hearts
- 50g dark brown sugar
- 25g butter
- 1tbsp pancake mix
- 1tbsp cinnamon
Icing drizzle
- 100g icing sugar
- 2-3tbsp cold water
Instructions
- Add all the dry ingredient in a mixing bowl
- Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Add the butter last.
- Mix together using a whisk or electric beater.
- Once the lumps have gone and the batter is smooth, set aside.
- Add all the ingredients for the cinnamon sugar hearts in a bowl. Mix together until smooth, add into a piping bag.
- On low heat fry the pancakes, just before you start to see holes appearing in the pancakes, pipe a small heart in the centre. Then another heart around the outside of the small heart.
- Flip over once holes have appeared in the pancakes and cook for 1 mins.
- Mix together the icing sugar and water to make the drizzle.
- Serve warm with a drizzle of icing.
