Ingredients

Buttermilk pancakes

  • 360g self raising flour
  • 1/2tbsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/4tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp caster or granulated sugar
  • 200ml buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 90g melted unsalted butter
  • 350ml whole milk
  • 1tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2tbsp ground cinnamon

Cinnamon sugar hearts

  • 50g dark brown sugar
  • 25g butter
  • 1tbsp pancake mix
  • 1tbsp cinnamon

Icing drizzle

  • 100g icing sugar
  • 2-3tbsp cold water

Instructions

  1. Add all the dry ingredient in a mixing bowl
  2. Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Add the butter last.
  3. Mix together using a whisk or electric beater.
  4. Once the lumps have gone and the batter is smooth, set aside.
  5. Add all the ingredients for the cinnamon sugar hearts in a bowl. Mix together until smooth, add into a piping bag.
  6. On low heat fry the pancakes, just before you start to see holes appearing in the pancakes, pipe a small heart in the centre. Then another heart around the outside of the small heart.
  7. Flip over once holes have appeared in the pancakes and cook for 1 mins.
  8. Mix together the icing sugar and water to make the drizzle.
  9. Serve warm with a drizzle of icing.
