How do you make Air fryer Churros?

Air fryer churros

  1. Heat the water, butter & sugar in a saucepan on a medium heat.
  2. Once the butter has melted stir to combine, then add the flour.
  3. Stir fast using a wooden spoon until it forms a dough & comes away from the sides of the saucepan. Remove from the heat to cool completely.
  4. Add the dough into a mixing bowl, then add one egg at a time. Mix together using the dough hook attachments on your hand mixer. Do not add the next egg until the first one is fully combined. If you add the eggs too fast the dough will become runny.
  5. Add some of the churro dough in a piping bag with a 1M open star tip. (Do not add to much as it will make it hard to pipe)
  6. Pipe the churros onto a board/tray with baking paper (that will fit in your freezer). To make them look like they were fried pipe them with a slight curve.
  7. Put them in the freezer for 30 mins, this will help them keep their shape (do put them in longer than this as it can make them dry)
  8. Pre heat the air fryer for 5 mins before at 180c.
  9. Place the churros in the air fryer basket and bake for 10 mins. Then flip the churros over and bake for 3 mins. They should be firm and golden brown.
  10. Whilst the churros are in the air fryer make the chocolate dip.
  11. Dust them in cinnamon sugar and serve with the chocolate sauce dip. Eat straight away, they taste best fresh out the air fryer!
