When should you make this black forest cheesecake brownie pie?

The answer is simple: whenever you feel like indulging in a decadent dessert that combines the best of fudgy brownies, cherries and cheesecake. But if you need some more specific occasions, here are some ideas:

  • Make it for your friends of families birthday or anniversary who are obsessed with brownies or Black Forest gateau.
  • Make it for Valentine’s Day. Nothing says “I love you” like a slice of black forest cheesecake brownie that you can share with your sweetheart.
  • Make it for a rainy day. When the weather is gloomy and you need some comfort food, this cake will cheer you up in no time. Just curl up on the couch with a warm mug of coffee or tea and enjoy every bite.

Tips for making a black forest cheesecake brownie pie?

  • Use good quality dark chocolate for the brownie batter under 60% cocoa otherwise it will be too bitter.
  • Don’t overmix the brownie batter. Just stir until everything is combined and no dry flour remains. Overmixing can make the brownies tough and cakey, which is not what we want.
  • Use full-fat cream cheese for the cheesecake layer. Low-fat or fat-free cream cheese will not set properly and will make the brownies soggy.
  • Bake the brownies until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs, not clean. This will ensure that the brownies are moist and gooey, not dry and over baked.
  • Let the brownie pie completely cool before adding the toppings.

That’s it! Enjoy your black forest cheesecake brownies and let me know how they turned out in the comments below. Happy baking!

Thanks for sharing..
Is the syrup in the ganache necessary?
Can I just skip it?

Hi! No it’s not necessary, the ganache will be a bit bitter but the sweetness from the brownies and cherry sauce balances it out. I have made it without the syrup before and enjoyed it!
