Ingredients

Bacon & Cheese Twists

  • 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 6–8 rashers streaky bacon, cooked until crispy
  • 80–100g grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • Optional - drizzle honey on the bacon

For Serving

  • 1 whole camembert (in a wooden box or baking dish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the puff pastry and sprinkle the grated cheese evenly on top.
  3. Cut into strips (around 3cm wide), then twist each strip a few times and place onto the lined baking tray.
  4. Separate streaky bacon into two pieces, wrap one half around each puff pastry twist.
  5. Optional- drizzle honey on the bacon.
  6. Bake the twists for 20-25 minutes, or until puffed, golden, and crisp.
  7. If serving with a baked Camembert, place it in the oven for 10 minutes before the cheese and bacon twists, continue to bake together. Camembert usually takes between 20-30 minutes), you want the inside to be soft and gooey in the centre.
  8. Serve warm, with the bacon & cheese twists dipped straight into the melted camembert.
