These gooey Nutella cinnamon rolls are the best thing I’ve put in my mouth this year…

They are super soft and squidgy and loaded with Nutella, I mean what is there NOT to like. When I was in kitchen I could not believe the amazing smells coming out of my oven, there is nothing better that the smell of chocolate Nutella bread being baked. Oh well there’s bacon and coffee…hum which one’s best…sorry bacon but I think these rolls win!

Now it’s completely up to you how squidgy you want these cinnamon rolls to be…the ones in the video below were baked for only 15 mins, so they were extra soft and gooey. It was almost like eating a warm chocolatey pudding. If you would like your cinnamon rolls to be more bread like then bake them a bit longer.

Tips for making these chocolatey rolls of goodness?

  • What ever you do, do not make the milk too hot. It will kill the yeast and your rolls will not rise. I warm my milk in the microwave 20 seconds at a time for a total of 60 seconds.
  • To check if the milk is the right temperature before you add the yeast, dip a clean finger in the milk. It should feel warm and not burn or feel uncomfortable.
  • This chocolate dough is sticky, sprinkle flour on top until it is easier to knead and stops sticking to your fingers.
  • My trick to create a warm environment for my dough to rise is to turn the microwave on for 10 seconds. Then I place my bowl with the dough (covered in cling film and a kitchen cloth) in the microwave. Alternatively you can do this with the oven. Just make sure you put a sticker on the door so no one accidentally turns it on…
  • I like to use a pizza cutter to cut my rolls instead of the string method. I find it much easier to roll up each roll individually.
